The mechanical properties of low carbon steel are different under different heat treatment conditions. In order to determine the mechanical properties of low carbon steel under different heat treatment conditions, tensile test is required.
Tensile test is one of the most common test methods in the testing of mechanical properties of materials. The elastic deformation, plastic deformation, fracture and other stages in the test truly reflect the whole process of material resistance to external forces. It has the characteristics of simple operation and convenient sample preparation. The material strength and plastic property data obtained from the tensile test have very important application value and reference value for the design and selection of materials, the development of new materials, the procurement and acceptance of materials, the quality control of products, and the safety and evaluation of equipment.
The strength and plasticity of low carbon steel under three different heat treatment states of annealing, normalizing and quenching are measured by tensile test, and the strain hardening index and coefficient are determined according to the stress-strain curve. Use these data to characterize the mechanical properties of low carbon steel, and compare the relevant data of low carbon steel with different heat treatment, so as to obtain the effect of different heat treatment on low carbon steel.
