Labels of textile and apparel exported to the United States must be marked in English
Yesterday, it was learned from the Zhongshan Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that recently, the US "Textile Fiber Products Identification Act" and "Wool Products Labeling Act" issued new regulations, requiring imported textiles and clothing to be marked or labelled in English, as well comply with relevant rules.
The reporter learned that the new rules stipulate: The labeling of fiber components must use non-brand fiber names and should be arranged in descending order of weight percentage; The fiber can be named using the fiber name approved by the Federal Trade Commission or the International Organization for Standardization; Trademark names can be used together with non-trademark fiber names; fiber composition can be indicated on the back of the label, but the relevant information must be easy to find; fibers that account for less than 5% of the total fiber weight should not be identified by the name, but should be listed as other fibers, but except for wool or regenerated wool and fibers with special functions.
Regarding the origin label of the product, the United States stipulates that unless there is a precedent that allows other marking methods, all clothing must be labeled with a cloth label to indicate the origin.
In addition, similar words such as Made in or Product of must be added in front of the name of origin, so that the final consumers can see it clearly, so as not to be misled.
Of course, the U.S. also agreed to accept the direct silk-screen printing of the mark of origin on the fabric at the neckline of the garment under certain circumstances. In addition, double-sided clothing is also exempt from the collar label requirements.
For example, a women's short vest that can be worn on both sides can be affixed with a permanent washing label on the underside of the inner seam of the vest, and a ribbon-type label that is fastened to the neckline can be used.
If you want to test the fiber composition, you can use our fiber measuring tester , It is used for animal fiber, chemical fiber, cotton and hemp fiber diameter, cross section, qualitative, quantitative analysis methods. The optical microscope is connected to the computer through a high-resolution industrial camera, and the fiber diameter and cross-sectional area are tested by professional analysis software. The content of each fiber in the blended fiber and the hollowness of the hollow fiber can be measured.
